Chronic worry, intense fears and sense of not feeling safe, panic, shyness, difficulty performing, obsessive-compulsiveness- However you experience anxiety, there is help.
You know the feelings associated with anxiety. Excessive sweating, trembling or shaking, racing heart, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, detachment, chest tightness, frequent headaches, the list goes on, but you don’t have to keep at it like this. Anxiety can stop you in your tracks. Don’t let it take over, it does not have to control you. Anxiety is one of the most diagnosed mental health conditions, but luckily it is also highly treatable. Elizabeth at Thrive NW is experienced in treating anxiety disorders. Don’t continue suffering. By avoiding treatment, you are prolonging your anxious suffering.
Health and Wellness
Improving our physical health is more than going to the doctor. Dealing with chronic autoimmune issues, fatigue, feeling sluggish, “brain fog”, thyroid issues, cancer, food allergies, or IBS or chronic stomach issues can be extremely exhausting, let alone frustrating when you can’t find the answers to feel better. If you are struggling with a chronic health issue working with a counselor can help. Working with a counselor, you learn ways to cope while making changes that may help find a path for a healthier lifestyle.
Research has been finding more connections to our stomach and mental health. For this reason, exploring lifestyle and dietary habits can be highly beneficial for improving mental health symptoms and physical health symptoms. Not only does our diet and lifestyle influence how we feel or how our bodies function, but our emotional and environmental experiences shape how our body responds and functions. Working with Elizabeth, you will explore and develop ways to make changes that focus on improving your wellness.
As part of traditional counseling, you may integrate career counseling into your treatment. It’s nearly impossible to separate our personal and professional lives. In American culture, our identities are strongly tied to job titles and “what we do”. Therefore, it can be distressing when we are not sure what direction we would like to take our careers, navigating the interview or negotiation process, dealing with job stress, or managing difficult work relationships.
When job stress or career stress becomes chronic, our mental wellbeing and health suffers. It has been shown that health expenses are just about 50% higher for individuals that experience job stress.
Job stress is a real deal for many people. Statistics and survey results from job stress research is not likely to take you by surprise. Workload, balancing personal life, work relationships, and job security are some of the most reported concerns that people have in their jobs. Perhaps you feel little control over your job, yet feel high pressure for work demands. Whatever concerns you are faced with, we can address them.
Strength-based Positive Psychology
Explore & Learn
Engage in Your Plan
Maximize Your Potential
Focusing on strengths, while learning ways to develop and manage areas of growth enables your success. Thrive uses Strengths-based and Cognitive Behavior positive psychology coaching for executives and professionals of all levels. Because removing weakness does not lead to creating greatness for individuals or organizations (Clifton & Nelson, 1992). Working hard in areas that don’t allow us to capitalize on our strengths often leads us to develop a negative self-view. Who has time for that?
Managers of all levels can benefit from working with a coach. If you’re a manager or leader and you want to improve your performance, set new goals, clarify your role, and develop more effective skills to advance your career, executive coaching is a great way to get started.
Career coaching is a great way to improve your performance, improve skills, increase clarity, increase confidence, and take actionable steps toward the career you want. Coaching is different from therapy in that we will focus on current goals, barriers to goals, and develop actionable steps for achievement. Coaching does not focus as much on the process of psychological distress or pathology.
What if I’m not an “executive”?
No problem! Have big goals, need to get motivated, ready to make big changes but not wanting traditional therapy? Contact Elizabeth to see how she can work with you.
